This issue is caused by having multiple sound input/output devices (like a built-in microphone, headset, and speakers). If you are experiencing this problem, it is most likely to be arising from a misconfiguration in your computer sound settings and there are several things you can try. Once you do any of the suggested changes, you may have to relaunch ConnectWorld for it to recognize the new settings.

NOTE: It is HIGHLY recommended that ConnectWorld is used with a headset that features a built-in microphone. This reduces noise, echoes, and leads to an overall better audio experience.

Choose your default device

Steps to choose the right default device.

1- Hit the Windows key on your keyboard:

3- Hit Enter and then click on the 'Sound Settings' option.

4- Once inside the Sound options, choose or check if the the devices you want to use for ConnectWorld are the ones selected under "Output" and also under "Input".

2- Type: 'Sound'

3- You will need to choose the "Change system sounds" which should be the second option from the top when you do the search.

4- A windows will popup. Make sure you click on the "Playback" tab on the top left of the window.

5- Once on the "Playback" menu, right click on the device you want to use, and then click on "Set as Default Device"

6- Once you set it as the default device, the icon should switch from a telephone icon to a checkmark icon like in the screenshot below.

Choose the devices for the app

Windows might specifically be assigning you the wrong device.

1- Hit the Windows key on your keyboard:

2- Type: 'Sound'

3- Hit Enter and then click on the 'Sound Settings' option.

4- Scroll down until you find the "Advanced Sound Options". Once there, you will be able to change the input and output devices you want to use. Make sure that the ones that are assigned to ConnectWorld are the correct ones you want to use.

Set the sound output for the correct display (2 screens).

If you have 2 screens, make sure that the sound output is assigned to the screen that the application is running by default. To find out which screen the application is assigned to, you can go to the dialog that is displayed when you run the application.
